What an interesting year Brite has just experienced. We have grown business, been impacted by the economic downturn and have been notified that Brite is located in the new "Broadmeadows Central Activities District".
Over the past year Brite's Board and Management have achieved budget whilst ensuring employees, staff and customers met all planned outcomes.
Brite recognises the dedication and governance of all Board Members over the past year.
Management have been challenged with excess work, not enough work and ongoing changes in our business. Brite's Strategic Plan to grow and diversify our business has been successful in assisting Brite during the economic downturn.

Brite offers work experience to many special schools across the Hume region and beyond to develop employment pathways for people with disability.
Employees also had the opportunity during the year to attend a range of training activities with the aim of helping them meet their employment goals. Brite has also continued to offer computer classes for interested employees and their families / carers, the classes were with the support of a Hume Council facilitator, I wish to thank Hume Council for their ongoing support to Brite.
Brite Institute also deliver training to our employees to assist with there personal development. Brite employees also participate in our Occupational Health and Safety Committee, Employee Representative Committee and are part of our interview process for all new staff. As a result of the eagerness to participate on the Employee Representative Committee a full democratic election process occurs to ensure equity and transparency in the election of members.
Fun activities for employees also include: free lunch theme days, disco evenings, end of year spit roast and the annual Christmas dinner dance. These activities allow for anticipation followed by immense enjoyment for all the participants and the Employee Representative Committee also take part in the planning process.
Brite Plants has been impacted by drought, water restrictions and minimization of gardens. Whilst other nurseries were closing, our nursery maintained steady sales with a great year's financial result. It is a credit to the hard work and positive attitutde within the Nursery team of employees and staff, that Brite Plants is in such a sound position today.
Brite Services would like to thank FaHCSIA and John Michie for the ongoing support they provide Brite as we continue to grow and face the future with confidence. Brite continues to exceed outlet capacity and we hope that future government budgets will allow for an expansion of our capacity. This would assist Brite to allow more people with disability to engage in ongoing and meaningful employment at Brite.
Brite is assured of success because of the excellence, drive and committment of all our stakeholders.
