A trainee is an employee who has been with their current employer for less than 3 months full time or 12 months part time.
A traineeship is a 12 to 24 month training program that combines training and employment. This training is delivered with Victorian Government funding.
A traineeship allows you to complete your training while you are employed. You must be employed a minimum of 13 hours per week.
Brite Institute offers a range of options for completing a traineeship. You can attend Brite Institute regularly (usually one day a fortnight) to undertake training as part of a group in a classroom environment; or for some qualifications you can complete part or all of your studies while you are at work.
A traineeship is formalised through a contract with your employer,
Employers who employ a trainee may be eligible to receive government incentive payments.
